Getting Started

  1. How do I start?
  2. Answer
    To start you must first enroll in the class by providing your payment. To access the payment screen click “Course Enrollment” on the left-hand side of your screen. Then click in the following order:
    1. 2007 certification
    2. Click Enroll for $99
    3. Go to New Users
    4. Once your have entered your Username and Password go to the payment portion. Note: It is important that you note the Username and Password. The system is case sensitive and you will need to have the correct case combination in order to log back in.
    5. Enter your payment information and proceed.

  3. What's the next step?
  4. Answer
    You are now ready to begin. The next step is to click the green Go button next to the registration for your first course. CBAA will require that you provide personal information during the registration process for each course. As you successfully navigate through each section of the course the green go buttons will become active allowing you to move on to the next step.

  5. Why is my screen stuck on “Launching Courseware”?
  6. Answer
    If the page does not automatically launch.
    1. Press the link provided on the page and you should get through.
    2. If that still does not work, be sure that you have cookies enabled in your web browser.
    3.Also make sure that your Pop Up Blocker is turned off for this site.

Session Return

  1. What happens if I log out of my course while it is in progress?
  2. Answer
    You can log back in to the course at any time. The course will continue to monitor the time you've spent in your previous session towards your time requirement.

  3. I was denied access when attempting to log back in my course.
  4. Answer
    The username and password are case sensitive. Be sure you are using the right upper and lower case combination that matches your initial setup.

  5. How do I retrieve my password?
  6. Answer
    From the front page click on I forgot my password. Your password will be sent to the e-mail address provided in your course registration.

System Requirements

  1. What systems requirements does CBAA's course have?
  2. Answer
    In order for your on-line education experience to be successful, we recommend that you use a high-speed Internet connection.

    AOL users are recommended to use another browser during their training session. This should minimize pop up issues AOL users experience, which can slow down your learning.

Final Test

  1. Why do I get a timing error when I attempt to move on to my course test?
  2. Answer
    You are required to fulfill your time requirement for each course before moving on to take your final exam. The system will continue to track your time in the program on active pages. Therefore you will not be permitted access until that time requirement is met.

  3. What do I need to do to pass the course test?
  4. Answer
    The course test must be completed with a 80% or higher in order for you to pass the course.

  5. After passing the test the system is not updating my course progress.
  6. Answer
    Try logging out of your session and logging back in. If your courses do not update at that time, then please contact the CBAA at education@cbaa.com or (916) 446-3038.

  7. Why is the system timing me out?
  8. Answer
    You are required to review the content of the entire course. Therefore if your session remains idle on a single page for too long your session will time out.

    CBAA represents the interests of the California bail licensees on the local, state, and federal levels.

Certification Questions

  1. What is certification?
  2. Answer
    Certification is proof of required continued education units (CEUs).

  3. Why do I need to be certified?
  4. Answer
    Bail Agents are required to complete 6 hours of education for each licensure year. A certification is proof that you've completed this required training.

  5. How long does certification take?
  6. Answer
    Certification should take 6 hours total. CBAA offers courses at varying lengths that can be combined to total the 6 hour requirement. The recommended time for course completion is indicated in the course description.

  7. Does my certification work/transfer to other states?
  8. Answer
    No. At this time CBAA is only certified for continuing education in California.

  9. Will I get a certificate for my wall?
  10. Answer
    Yes. A certificate will be mailed to you within 30-days of your completion of each course.

  11. How long will it take to get my certificate of completion?
  12. Answer
    Allow up to 30-days after completion of your course to receive your certificate.

  13. Do I have to send my certificate to the Department of Insurance?
  14. Answer
    No. The certificate is merely for your records. The CBAA reports your course completion to the California Department of Insurance for license renewal purposes.

  15. What information does CBAA need to process my certification?
  16. Answer
    You are required to provide CBAA with your complete name, address, phone number and a valid active bail license and social security number. This helps to verify completion of your license renewal and is necessary for timely reporting to the California Department of Insurance.

    Additionally, your course completion is subject to verification that you've fulfilled all requirements including course time requirements and valid payment.

  17. Do my certificate hours need to be completed in one setting?
  18. Answer
    No, you are not required to complete your hours in one setting. The CBAA program does not limit how many times you can log back in to fulfill the time requirement for each course.

    There are two ways to view the catalog:
    1. Click "Course Catalog" on the black bar.
    2. Use the expanding menu tree on the left side. Click the '+' to expand the tree.

  3. How do I register for a class?
  4. Answer
    Select a class from the course catalog. Click the "enroll" button to register and pay for the class. Once that is done, you can click the "go/launch" button to start the online class.

  5. What are my payment options?
  6. Answer
    We accept the following credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

  7. What type of currency can I pay in?
  8. Answer
    All payments are in US$.

    You may use the training content and supporting software ("software") only as described in this license. Your purchase of any training classes indicates your acceptance of this agreement.

    The Information We Gather
    When you purchase products or classes from us, we need to know your name, email address, credit card number and expiration date, billing and shipping addresses, active bail license number and social security number.

    How We Use the Information
    We want to provide you with a reason to return to our site. Therefore, we monitor patterns to analyze what our learners like or dislike about our current offerings. This way we can design better products and services for you.

    The personally identifiable information that you provide will be used to report completion of your education requirement to the California Department of Insurance. It will also be used to confirm your identity should this fall into question.

    We may share non-personal, aggregate statistical information regarding our learners, sales, traffic patterns, and site usage with our partners. We will not reveal your identity unless you have told us this is acceptable.

    "Cookies" are messages sent from a server and stored by your computer's browser. When you register at our site, a cookie is sent and stored in your computer. Each time you visit, the cookie tells the server who you are so that a more customized page is presented.

Refunds

  1. Refund for Online Classes
  2. Answer
    CBAA will issue a refund for class cancellation requests received in writing by the CBAA office prior to June 1. Each class cancellation will be subject to a $25 processing fee.

    Refunds may be issued on a pro-rata basis if the user determines to withdraw from the course after course instruction has been started. Pro-rata refunds will be determined on a case by case basis and must be submitted in writing.
