Taxonomy Classification Specialist - Categories Manager

Description:
Vettanna is looking for an experienced taxonomy specialist to analyze, optimize, implement and communicate classification structures for a well known e-commerce site. This contract position requires an organized, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an eye and mind for detail. We’re looking for someone to step in, learn tools and processes quickly and become an owner and driver of taxonomy structure improvements.
Candidates Must Be:
Self-motivated and driven to deliver category improvements while being sensitive to customer needs and flexible to business realities.
Extremely well organized. Thorough and timely follow-up with multiple cross functional groups is mandatory in this role.
Able to come up to speed quickly, prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Able to display excellent written and verbal communication skills. Some customer facing communication required.
Able to see the big picture and how category updates affect other classification structures of the e-commerce site.
Able to make classification based decisions for categories that are not clear-cut and explain pros/cons of alternate classification options.
Detail-oriented. In addition to classification analysis, this role requires implementation of category updates and the requisite verifications before updates become live to the end user.
Focus:
Train on and quickly become expert in using complex proprietary data tools for managing category and classification structures. This role does include some repetitive tasks in implementing category updates.
Perform detailed analysis of potential classification updates and present findings to classification team.
Implement updates using data tools and work with team to verify correct implementation.
Track team decisions regarding all category updates and communicate with stakeholders to assure successful implementation and rollout of structure updates.
Prepare detailed community communications in advance of all category updates.
Communicate and maintain responsibility for category update releases.
A Plus:
Degree in Library Science or extensive experience working on classification projects.
5+ years experience in IT role and expert knowledge of SDLC.
2+ years Management experience.
This categories and classification specialist will be responsible for taking ownership and driving category improvements. They will analyze, optimize, implement and communicate category changes based upon requirements, business goals, emails, discussions and/or the existing structure. Vettanna requires a classification expert who has excellent communication skills, refined organizational skills, and someone who can quickly grasp complex interactive structures. Vettanna's ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in an IT position with over 2 years of management experience, and will be mature, unflapable, an owner of good judgment and good business savvy.

SQA Localization Tester

Vettanna is looking for experienced Software QA localization testers. We are currently looking to fill contract positions that require English language skills as well as knowledge of one or more of the following languages; German, Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese(Mandaran), Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.

Inquisitive and persistent - likes to ask questions and research answers
Able to come up to speed quickly and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Focus:
Black box testing of complex features that have been localized for an international web site
Feature testing is as important as localization verification for this project
Detailed localization testing including spotting errors in localization and content issues
Some Grey box testing may be required (not only front end, but app server and DB server testing
as well)
Daily work in Test Director for test cases and Clearquest for reporting issues. Environment is very fast-paced and daily progress on test cases is needed for reporting purposes
A Plus:
Experience with Clearquest and Test Director
Strong SQL and Unix experience
Some positions require experience with financial/billing practices or comprehension of error logs (from Java and C++ applications)
Testers are responsible for executing test cases and/or ad-hoc testing of products,
reporting bugs and reporting tester status and the status of the areas of the
product that they are testing. They will design and write test cases based
upon requirements, specifications, emails, discussions and/or the previous
product. Vettanna requires a tester who has a strong understanding of computer
and testing terminology, how to test, how to find bugs and testing processes.
Vettanna's ideal candidate will have over 3 years of testing experience and
will be mature, have strong communication skills, good judgment and good business
savvy.
